A blizzard with four feet...

We're shivering in temperatures of -29 C today, but this is a blizzard of a different kind. A rare white bison named Blizzard arrived at the Calgary Zoo this week. For 25% off admission to the zoo (and other Calgary attractions), click on this web site before December 30: http://www.calgaryattractions.com/coupon.html#4

And something to look forward to ... Koalas arrive at the zoo in February. Hurray!

A Baby Guide to Calgary

In my life before children I was a publishing exec and I love books. So Little Traveller has partnered with the author/publisher of "A Baby Guide to Calgary" to offer you this jam-packed guide to all things baby related at a discounted rate. Even better, it's free from us if you spend more than $200 on rentals. The book has 20 informative chapters and covers everything from surviving the first six weeks to shopping with baby to child-friendly hikes and activities.

The author, Paula McGarrigle, was featured on City TV's breakfast show today (December 8) in an 8-minute slot.

Welcome to the Little Traveller blog...

I'm new to blogging but not new to the topics we'll be discussing here: Tips and tricks for travelling with young children.

But first, let me introduce you to some of the new features on our web site. We've got a brand new page with specials for parents (and grandparents) living in Calgary. Head to this page to check out our new Baby Bjorn Travel Crib Light -- quite possibly the best portable crib ever invented. It packs into a little carry case and weighs just 11 lb. What's not to love!
